Fitness Services

Pets come to us for different reasons. Some are young, active dogs that need to burn energy. Others are middle-aged, slowing down and getting broad in all the wrong places. Some are senior pets that aren’t as mobile as they used to be, or pets that need to shed pounds. Patients in rehab stay with us after recovery to maintain their strength and condition.

Owners also bring animals to us when factors including work, time, weather and physical constraints prevent them from exercising with their pets.

As with our rehab services, we evaluate all patients and develop a tailored exercise program.

Our facility includes a full gym for aerobic conditioning, strength training, and balance and coordination work. Our outdoor fitness walk incorporates obstacles and other challenges to enhance your pet’s workout and mental sharpness. Click here for conditioning equipment you can use at home. Available online and sold at Aiken Pet Fitness.

A unique feature of our practice is that pet owners can use the gym and hydrotherapy on their own with our supervision. Owners can reserve an appointment or drop off their pet and we will perform the exercise program, and provide love, treats, and naptimes.

Holistic Pet Services:

Animal Reiki: Mystical as is seems, another alternative therapy popular with people is becoming more common in veterinary care. Called Reiki (pronounced “Ray-key”) and now offered by appointment with Reiki master Claire Helene-Horne, this ancient Japanese healing technique aims to improve what practitioners believe are connections between the brain or heart and the rest of the body. Pet Communications: Reiki master Claire Helene-Horne also talks to animal owners and their pets. And the animals talk back — telepathically, in symbols and pictures. She is an animal communicator, a horse whisperer, a kind of modern Doctor Dolittle, without the music or the comedy. Learn more about pet communications »

Acupuncture: Acupuncture isn't just for people anymore. Vets tout the benefits of the ancient practice for dogs and cats. Pet owners swear by it, too. Learn more about acupuncture »

What our clients say ...

Quinn and I visited Dr. Sybil Davis at Aiken Pet Fitness and Rehabilitation this morning. I am so impressed. What a positive experience. The facility, the staff and Dr. Davis are great at what they do. I highly recommend them for any fitness or rehab needs. Thanks for fitting us in.

Snoopy and I love Sybil and Maggie (and Annette too, although we don't see her as often). Snoopy has recovered almost completely from her torn ACL with no surgery.
