Our Services

Rehabilitation Services
When pets are injured or recovering from surgery, you want them to rebound quickly. And when aging pets experience mobility issues, you want them to live as independently as possible. That’s the time to call us.

Our rehabilitation services include an evaluation for every patient. We assess your pet’s health, diet, exercise, comfort level, body condition, and home environment. We discuss your goals and expectations, and then recommend a diet and exercise program, pain treatments and medications, and suggest changes that should be made at home.

We also measure and fit assistive equipment such as harnesses, carts and joint braces that make it easier to care for special-needs pets.

Fitness Services
Pets come to us for different reasons. Some are young, active dogs that need to burn energy. Others are middle-aged, slowing down and getting broad in all the wrong places. Some are senior pets that aren’t as mobile as they used to be, or pets that need to shed pounds. Patients in rehab stay with us after recovery to maintain their strength and condition.

Owners also bring animals to us when factors including work, time, weather and physical constraints prevent them from exercising with their pets.

As with our rehab services, we evaluate all patients and develop a tailored exercise program.

Our facility includes a full gym for aerobic conditioning, strength training, and balance and coordination work. Our outdoor fitness walk incorporates obstacles and other challenges to enhance your pet’s workout and mental sharpness.

A unique feature of our practice is that pet owners can use the gym and hydrotherapy on their own with our supervision. Owners can reserve an appointment or drop off their pet and we will perform the exercise program, and provide love, treats, and naptimes.

For Veterinarians
We are an outpatient practice for dogs and cats that performs rehabilitation and fitness exclusively. We rely on primary veterinarians to provide all routine care and the diagnostic work-up for the medical problem that prompts a referral. We believe in preventative medicine and encourage early referral for patients that will benefit from our services.

Post-op patients, from days 1 through 14, receive therapy for pain and inflammation and to maintain normal posture, gait and joint function.  Minimal exercises are performed until patients are reevaluated and released for further rehabilitation. Treatment during this early healing phase is critical to improve comfort and speed recovery.

We are always happy to discuss a case and give our thoughts on a therapy plan, including cost estimates, for clients. After referral we will keep you informed of your patient’s progress.

We love to show off the facility and discuss our services. Feel free to come for a practice visit. Your staff is welcome, as well.

What our clients say ...

Quinn and I visited Dr. Sybil Davis at Aiken Pet Fitness and Rehabilitation this morning. I am so impressed. What a positive experience. The facility, the staff and Dr. Davis are great at what they do. I highly recommend them for any fitness or rehab needs. Thanks for fitting us in.

  — Nancy Webster, Quinn's owner

Snoopy and I love Sybil and Maggie (and Annette too, although we don't see her as often). Snoopy has recovered almost completely from her torn ACL with no surgery.

  — Mary Lou Seymour, Snoopy's owner
